My Background...
I am a classically trained vocalist, having majored in music (vocal performance) at Austin College in Sherman, TX. After graduating, I studied voice under the direction of Joan Wall at Texas Woman's University in pursuit of a master's in vocal pedagogy. I have also taught voice lessons at middle schools in the Frisco Independent School District, but my first love and passion is vocal performance. I have been performing since high school, being awarded "Outstanding Performer" in competition and moving on to state-wide competitions in both solo and ensemble categories. As a soprano, I studied and sang the roles of Susanna and Pamina from Mozart's "The Marriage of Figaro" and "The Magic Flute" in opera performances put on by Austin College. I also had the privilege of singing a vocal concerto piece with the college's chamber orchestra after having won the "Austin College Concerto Competition." In graduate school, an "Opera Cabaret" afforded me the opportunity to take on the role of Marie from Donizetti's "La Fille du Regiment."I now enjoy the full-time responsibilities of being a mother to an adorable little girl and feel grateful to share all of the wonderful challenges of parenthood with my amazing husband. Of course, singing to my daughter will always be one of my favorite things to do, but I also love singing with our church choir and experiencing the energy and joy in performing on a more public level, such as in weddings and other similar outlets.
